“Next month, we wed and the new chapter begins,” the 32-year-old singer said.

The venue and exact date were not revealed but rumor has it that the wedding will be held “outside but very near Metro Manila.”

Former beauty queen Melanie Marquez is back in the Philippines after the tragic accident in the United States last December 7.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN reporter Mario Dumaual, Marquez narrated the horrific car crash that happened to her in Utah-Arizona border.

During the interview she said: “Nagpapasalamat lang ako sa Diyos na walang complication kasi pwede ako ma-‘parasite’ dahil sa car accident.”

This drew laughter after she was told she probably meant “pwede ako ma-paralyze (not ma-parasite).”

The quote is now a hot topic on social media sites Facebook and Twitter.

Veteran actor Roy Alvarez passed away on Tuesday. He was 63.

The sad news was first reported by ABS-CBN News citing that the actor had died of cardiac arrest. Wife Nieves Campa-Alvarez, and daughter, Miren Alvarez, confirmed the actor’s death.

Alvarez starred in several TV series, including ABS-CBN’s Juanita Banana and Guns N’ Roses.  He was also part of the hit Kapuso teleserye My Husband’s Lover. His last TV project was GMA-7′s Villa Quintana, which is still ongoing.

Roy Alvarez is a Filipino actor, director and scriptwriter for film, television and theater in the Philippines. He is also a lecturer and speaker on Consciousness Development, Inner and Outer Ecology, Healing Mother Earth and Zero Waste Management.

The National Bureau of Investigation or NBI was able to retrieved the text messages sent by Deniece Cornejo to Vhong Navarro before the mauling incident on January 22, according to Tony Calvento.

As read on Calveto’s Facebook post: “The NBI has retrieved the messages that were deleted. True to everything that Vhong said the messages of ‘sweetie’ the invitation to go to condo were there. What was perplexing was the fact that after Vhong left the condo the group of Cedric came a few minutes after, missing Vhong by a hairline.”

The famous word “bad boy ka” and “sweetie” which were allegedly texted by Cornejo and deleted by Cedric Lee after their encounter were also included in the retrieved messages.

Calvento said that the CCTV footage, the sms messages and other evidence will be submitted during the next preliminary investigation on Friday.

According to ABS-CBN News, the new footage was taken early morning of January 23 after Cedric Lee and company filed the blotter to the southern police district.

The new footage also shows Bernice Lee with two men who first arrived in the condo before Vhong Navarro on January 22. Watch below.

According to legal counsel of Navarro, the disclosure of the video came on the eve of a Department of Justice (DOJ) preliminary hearing on the Navarro-Cornejo-Lee cases.

Atty. Raymond Fortun has resigned as the spokesman for businessman Cedric Lee, who was among those implicated in the beating of actor Vhong Navarro inside the condominium unit of model Deniece Cornejo in Taguig City.

Dear Cedric,

I had been engaged as your spokesman with the objective of being the media’s contact person in all legal as well as factual issues as may be consistent with the thrust of your legal counsels. In this regard, I had faithfully complied with this mandate for the past 12 days, even at peril to my own reputation as a lawyer.

Together with this mandate was an agreement that no statements shall by anybody from your group without the consent/approval of your counsels and/or spokesman. This has been breached last night.

My personal desire to help you notwithstanding the adverse publicity that you have been receiving is precisely to educate the public on the need to temper their emotions in light of your Constitutional rights to due process, to counsel of your choice, to present a valid and lawful defense, and to confront your accusers in the proper legal setting.

The past several days had made me realize that this country is NOT YET READY to accept these legal concepts, to which I squarely lay the blame on inaccurate reportage and the unprofessional actions of certain law enforcement agencies. That being the case and for the earlier reason mentioned, and in light of my inability to perform the functions for which I was hired, I regret that I must resign as your spokesman effective immediately.

Nonetheless, and in light of the lessons I have learned during my short stint as your spokesman, I will henceforth be devoting some of my time to: (i) ask congressmen to enact legislation so that ALL PERSONS who MAY be facing criminal prosecution be duly informed of their rights (e.g. to remain silent, to the presence of a lawyer etc.) before they are interviewed by TV networks.

People accused of crimes also have rights which need to be protected against media frenzy and unfair pre-judgments; and (ii) ask the Supreme Court to resolve the issues in respect of the Constitutionality of the Anti-Cybercrime Law, in order to address the matter of cyber-libels against Filipino citizens. People do have the right to express their opinions about issues, but such freedom does not grant a license to bully, hurl invectives or otherwise destroy one’s reputation without factual basis.

In an exclusive interview with Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino on Monday night, Atty. Raymond Fortun explained why he decided to quit as the spokesman of businessman Cedric Lee, who was among those implicated in the beating of It’s Showtime host Vhong Navarro.

Fortun told the hosts of ABS-CBN’s late night show “Abunda & Aquino Tonight, “I just simply couldn’t do the work.” Adding: “My decision is irrevocable.”

He also mentioned that the recent interview of Deniece Cornejo, “stating that the kiss in the elevator has no malice,” is one of the reason behind his resignation.

Deniece Cornejo denied the rumors that she worked as an escort.

In a statement sent to Philippine Daily Inquirer, Deniece Cornejo said: “I have never been employed in any club as an escort.”

The 22-year-old Vhong Navarro rape complainant clarifies the issue after Malaysian Greg Binunus said in his affidavit submitted to the NBI that he met Cornejo in a bar in Malate.

“I met Mr. Greg through a girl who purchased goods from me. She happened to work at a piano bar.  She gave Mr. Greg my number, hoping that he would purchase goods from me in order for her to get a commission.”

It just happened that she was also looking for a condo unit near Makati area.

Binunus according to Cornejo offered his condo unit at Bonifacio Global City where he still had two months of rent left.

“I then decided to stay in that unit on a short-term basis while looking for a more accessible place in exchange for helping him in his business,” said Cornejo.

She decided to explain the situation because people were attacking her character.

In a Facebook post of Tony Calvento, the journalist confirmed that a woman by the name of Roxanne has come out and filed a case against Showtime host Vhong Navarro.

“Breaking news: A Woman by the name of ‘ Roxanne’ has filed a case of rape versus Vhong Navarro with the DOJ. It’s going to come out in the news any moment,” said Calvento.

Meanwhile, in a phone patch interview of Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino with Atty. Virgilio Batalla, the legal counsel of the new accuser, who refuses to disclose the real name of the victim, said that the alleged “rape took place in 2010.”

John Lloyd Cruz was rushed to a nearby hospital on Thursday, February 20, 2014 after a bike accident in Mount Pinatubo while shooting a new station ID for ABS-CBN network.

According to ABS-CBN News, the actor fell off the bike face first while trying to avoid a pothole. John Lloyd Cruz received four stitches for an open wound under his left nostril.

Rumor has it that that John Lloyd’s girlfriend, Angelica Panganiban was also hurt on the incident. But ABS-CBN talent management denied the report of Angelica’s involvement with the incident.

“Angelica Panganiban was present at the shoot but was not part of the scene and not involved in the accident. We thank everyone for their concern,” Star Magic said.
